Lockdown Shopdown: UK Independent Bookshops Taking Orders
UPDATE! As of the 30th March, 2020, the company that supply independent bookshops with books (Gardners) have stopped taking orders. In my opinion, this difficult decision is entirely understandable in the circumstances. I do know that this means that some bookshops on the list below will stop taking online orders. However, there are some who have enough stock to be able to keep taking orders. Please contact the bookshop you want via email or social media to check.
With the COVID-19 lockdown in full swing we need books now more than ever. Here is a list of bookshops, that I know of, that are currently (March 29th, 2020) still taking online orders and delivering books. Please use them and support them. They need your help to survive and we need books to survive. It’s win-win.
I have arranged the shops in vague geographical order. Huge apologies if I have mistakenly put a shop in the wrong area. Let me know of any errors and I’ll amend ASAP. I have included the shop name, the Twitter name and the place the shop is located.
